Hurricane Alex seems to be the first hurricane of the season to threaten the coast of Texas for 2010. After making its way through the Yucatan peninsula (which didn’t seem to slow it down much) has now shifted its gaze to the south coast of Texas/northern Mexico. Yesterday it seemed it would head straight toward my hometown – Victoria, TX (the blue dot on the map). My prediction for landfall in sometime in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday. But luckily, for us, it seems July 4th weekend might just have showers instead of a hurricane to rune the picnic – I can’t complain really, after all, we’re not the ones getting hit by a full force hurricane.

I happen to be working July 4th at Best Buy, so it’s not like I had anything planned, actually I like what I do at work – Geek Squad. Since Victoria decided to move the fireworks show out near the mall (Best Buy is in the Victoria Mall.) One thing is for sure, I’ll be holding down my spot for the fireworks show 7 hours early…
