I’m a little late on the planting of stuff in the garden this year, but these weird cold fronts that have been blowing through have thrown me off. I think we are passed that now, which is sorta bittersweet really. I like the cooler weather, but I want Basil!! :) So this past Friday, I began planting my garden here in south texas:

I planted a 72 Seed Starter:

  • 12 – Thyme
  • 12 – Mammoth Sunflower (I’m likely to regret this decision)
  • 12 – Watermelon
  • 24 – Opal Basil (also called Purple Basil)
  • 12 – Sweet Basil

In Pots:

  • 1 – Tarragon
  • 2 – Chives
  • 2 – Spinach (don’t think these will grow…)

In the Garden Rows

  • 1/2 – Carrots (In photo lower-half of the far-right row)
  • 1/2 – Mammoth Sunflower (In photo top-half of the far-right row)
  • 2 – Sweet basil (first & second rows from left in the photo)
